When we first purchased the old Anchor pub in early 2019, we knew we wanted to create something different for the village, but we were also aware of the building’s historical value. Being proud villagers ourselves, we wanted to develop a space we could be proud of. However, it was pretty clear that the venue needed to change.
After finally opening the restaurant two years later, we quickly gained a name for ourselves as a must-visit venue in Southend-on-Sea, serving up delicious drinks and cuisine.
We still consider The Waeccer a work in progress, but hopefully, with the support of our lovely community, we can make it a long-term success.
